Coordinator Assistant: ESCALATOR programme

Biography:

Bronwyn Bowles-King has been an academic editor for 13 years, while also being proficient in Python, giving her the opportunity to delve into a variety of fields and projects. She is the founder of The Journal of African Youth Literature (JAY Lit) and the editor of Conflict Trends. She has conducted research on African youth literature using quantitative and computational approaches. Her research interests include African and youth literature, NLP and AI ethics. Bronwyn is assisting with the ESCALATOR Programme at SADiLaR and embarking on a group research project into African language corpora.

Bronwyn is a Canon Collins Scholar, and her studies have been generously funded by the National Arts Council (NAC) of South Africa and North-West University. She is also a researcher at Rwesana Consultants, applying quantitative, computational and qualitative approaches to socio-economic problems in South Africa. Bronwyn is an accomplished singer with a powerful voice, both acoustically and in advocating for youth authors across Africa.
