English – International year of indigenous languages

EVENTS:

Wed, March 25, 2020 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM SAST

Dear colleague

Thank you for your interest in the screening of the interview with prof. Salikoko Mufwene.

Unfortunately, the event has to be postponed in light of the Coronavirus pandemic. This is in line with the most recent guidelines issued by the NWU and Pres. Ramaphosa’s recent escalation of government response to the pandemic.

No one could have foreseen the current circumstances, but our collective efforts should see us through. While regrettable, we trust this is in the best interest of your and others’ safety.

We are looking into alternative ways of re-imagining this event, including possibly screening it at another date; please keep an eye on our website and social media channels for updates.

In the meantime, you are welcome to view the interview on our website: https://www.sadilar.org/index.php/en/2-general/77-english-iy2019 and contact our English researcher, Deon du Plessis, at deon.duplessis@nwu.ac.za if you have any questions or comments. Also feel free to share in your networks.

We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding!
