Interesting questions about these words are raised, including but not limited to who decides when a compound becomes and intensified adjective and where do these intensified adjectives originate from? The motivation for the videos is given, as well as the disclaimer that the content of the videos is not intended to say what is right and wrong or to change school curricula. The reader is urged to think about the questions raised in the videos as it highlights the complexities of intensified adjectives in Afrikaans.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\"><strong>\u0149 Videoreeks oor intensiewe vorme in Afrikaans<br \/><\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\">In Afrikaans staan daar \u0149 groep woorde as <em>intensiewe vorme <\/em>bekend. Dit sluit woorde soos <em>stokoud<\/em>, <em>doodnormaal <\/em>en <em>hondwarm <\/em>in. Hierdie woorde bied aan \u0149 taalgebruiker \u0149 manier om sy opinie uit te spreek oor \u0149 saak. Iets of iemand is vir hom baie oud, iets of iemand kan vir hom baie normaal wees en die dag of die bord kos is baie warm. Daar is \u0149 handvol interessante vrae wat \u0149 mens oor sulke woorde kan en behoort te vra. Vrae kan insluit of die eerste deel van die woord saak maak en of daar \u0149 verskil tussen <em>vuurwarm <\/em>en <em>hondwarm <\/em>is? Het albei woorde dieselfde betekenis en kom jou gebruik van die een of die ander net op persoonlike smaak neer?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: 'trebuchet ms', geneva, sans-serif;\">\u0149 Mens kan maklik vir ure, dae en maande praat en heel waarskynlik vassit oor intensiewe vorme. \u0149 Noemenswaardige deel van my PhD gaan juis oor intensiewe vorme en hul betekenis. As \u0149 poging om hierdie taalverskynsel en die kompleksiteit daarvan toeganklik te maak, beplan ek en Gustaf Tempelhoff \u0149 reeks kort, informele video\u2019s. Aspekte waarmee rekening gehou moet word, sluit in dat taalgebruikers nie altyd spelre\u00ebls gehoorsaam nie \u00e9n dat hulle moontlik doelbewus \u2018verkeerde\u2019 maniere van skryf gebruik om \u0149 bepaalde betekenis te kommunikeer.
